Preserve Your Wine with Wine Shield

Wine Shield is plastic disc that floats on the top of wine in any opened 750ml bottle. When Wine Shield is inserted into the bottle, it creates a barrier to oxidation which preserves the taste and nose of the wine for up to 5 days from the moment of opening.

NZHerald.com: Travel Gadget: WineSkin
Wednesday, 22 April 2009 08:00

NZHerald.com provides great coverage for WineSkin in April 2009:

Taking fine New Zealand wine overseas, to share with family or friends, is a bit fraught these days. The security rules on liquids mean you can no longer carry a couple of bottles in your hand luggage (unless you buy it in duty free where it's usually expensive and the choice limited). But pack it in your check-in luggage and you travel in fear of arriving to find your clothes stained a tasteful red colour.

Happily, there is an alternative in the form of the US-invented Wineskin.

The prestigious Wine Spectator Magazine covered WineSkin's many benefits in the November 15, 2008 issue:

Transporting wine can be tricky, but of course it is sometimes also necessary...You can stuff loose bottles between clothes in your suitcase; however, if one of those bottles leaks or breaks from crude handling on the tarmac you have a problem.

The best solution we've found is WineSkin.

TIME.com: 25 Gotta Have Travel Gadgets
Friday, 01 August 2008 08:00

Time.com featured WineSkin as part of its "25 Gotta Have Travel Gadgets" coverage in August 2008:

You take your bottle, insert it in the bottle-shaped bubble wrap bag and seal it up air-tight. The bubbles prevent it from breaking in-flight, but if you hit turbulence, the seal prevents any liquid from leaking out and ruining your clothes. So, yeah, it's basically a wine condom—which might not sound particularly attractive, but it's a lot prettier than a suit dunked in Chateau Margaux.
